Description:
The Center for Diversity and Inclusion, in partnership with the Paiute Tribe of Utah, are seeking two paid student mentors to serve as mentors for the Paiute Educational Access Camp Experience (P.E.A.C.E.) Mentors will work under the guidance of Willy Palomo to coordinate and supervise youth activities and ensure the success of the camp. Applicants should possess excellent conflict resolution skills and upbeat, positive attitudes. Mentors must be available all day and night, staying in the residence halls, June 3rd to June 6th.
Job Responsibilities:
-- Coordinate, supervise, and/or participate in all youth activities
-- Mediate any issues that may arise between youth
-- Provide academic, professional, and emotional support to youth

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
-- Possess Native American, preferably Paiute, heritage
-- A strong academic record and knowledge of issues pertaining to access, Native American students, and higher education
-- Positive attitude and friendly demeanor in the face of challenges
-- A propensity to take initiative, be self-directed, and solve problems as they arise
-- Conflict mediation skills
-- Be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
-- A minimum of 3.0 Cumulative GPA, preferred
Minimum Requirements:
-- Have completed at least two semesters at an institution of higher education
-- Be available all day and all night June 3rd to June 6th.
